Penobscot County GOP Caucus at Husson University draws large crowd
BANGOR - Penobscot County Republicans gathered at Husson University in Bangor today for their 2010 caucus and straw poll. Approximately 200 area Republicans heard speeches from Steve Abbott, Bill Beardsley, Bruce Poliquin, Les Otten, and representatives of Matt Jacobson, Peter Mills, and Paul LePage.
In conjunction with the caucus, the City of Bangor Republican Party held a straw poll. Steve Abbott won decisively, garnering 57% of the total.
"This was a great show of support, and I'm honored to have the backing of so many Bangor area Republicans," said Steve Abbott. "Since this campaign started three weeks ago, the response has been tremendous across the state. Today's straw poll result reflects the enthusiasm that Republicans have been showing toward this campaign."

Beardsley- 7% (3)
Jacobson - 7% (3)
Poliquin - 5% (2)
